Unit - Sampling

Anarkali Dress

The image at the top shows a traditional Anarkali dress from South East Asia originally from India. By observing this dress I have realized, this dress creates an environment of cultural Muslim government in India, who have ruled the subcontinent for a long period of time.
Also, this dress is made in 2017, which describes me how the modern world has changed the cultural meaning of a modest women in this era.
Moreover, if I talk about it in being wearable- imagining myself in this sort of clothing, might make me feel royal, elegant, graceful and confident.

Beauty in inperfection

I have taken this phtograph(with tangled thread) at 'whitworth art gallery'. The reason i have photographed it is because i love the combination of light colour pallet with a bright red thread. This somehow forces me to imagine the leftover thread in a textile industry, the person might be working to create some samples or it has to be like this. Even the tiny notes being wrapped around the stickes reminds me of my dye workshop at uni - hanging huge pieces of yarn or fabric around the bamboo stickes to dye it in a specific way.
It creates a sense of beauty in putting/throwing things randomly.

Beauty in the dead sea

The broken piece of tree trunk and the dry sand usually reminds us of a boring and unhappy event, but have you ever wonder there is always a life in the dead sea? The things which we hate or we cant live into could be a life or a beauty for someone else?
Just like this beautiful lizard in the dry sand shows us God has made everything beautiful, its just about the way we see it, changes the whole meaning.

Photograph is taken in Mnanchester Museum

Essence of Freshness

This photograph is the front scene of hepworth art gallery in West Yorkshire.
The photgraph shows some rusty boats and a old building on the canal side. I really got inspired by this view because if we observe it, we see some boats are casually placed around the building which are quiet rusty and old, but the freshness of the weather and water makes it more lifeful, which doesn't make a person sick and tired while working there.
